Big Week for Lo Five!

December 3, 2011

At the risk of sounding like a fruity new-ager, sometimes magic happens. Lo Five had more than their share this week.

A meeting on an international flight between Lo Five manager Henry Compton and soul legend Portia Griffin of The Sweet Inspirations culminated in the recording of what is shaping up to be a real soul classic. Little Man is a conversation between a strong woman and a man who’s struggling to commit. The song came to Tam in a dream, which is lucky because his conscious mind was freaking out about attempting to write a song for soul royalty! The session with the Sweets was a delight. Such a special day. Portia said she was going to play the track to Oprah!

If you ever have the opportunity to see The Sweet Inspirations live do yourself a favour. Estelle Brown and Portia Griffin are the real deal.

Then to top off an extraordinary week Lo Five had the privilege of remixing the wonderful Olivia Newton John.

Fonky fresh!
